 Staff Testimonials:

You can easily determine why Nishna Productions’ “direct-care” services are so very outstanding by the attitude that the employees have about their job.  NPI is also extremely fortunate in having a large number of employees that have been with the agency for a very long time.  In the following testimonials, we are featuring three outstanding “direct-care” staff members with long employment tenures with Nishna Productions, Inc.  Mary Wade has been employed by NPI for 23 years and Linda Bonnes and JoAnn Clark have been employed for 15 years.

We asked some questions to Mary, JoAnn and Linda about their jobs and we would like to share their responses.

Linda Bonnes, Home and Community Based  Services Worker, wrote these comments…..
”Direct-Care work is really one of the most important jobs available in today’s job market – assisting individuals to live a happier, more productive life.  It makes going to work each day enjoyable.  We enjoy many laughs each day – some of them at my expense.  I feel that some of the highlights of my job include assisting individuals to learn and grow – watching their sense of self worth increase with their accomplishments.  Helping individuals live independently in their own apartments.  They are always happy to see me and I am always happy to see them!  The “direct-care” staff has assisted many individuals in learning how to interact positively with others in the community – both disabled and non-disabled.  This interaction enhances both lives.  NPI has a reputation of serving and working with persons with any disability.  The attitude of management and the “direct-care” staff has provided excellent services to many individuals who might not have succeeded in living a meaningful life.”

JoAnn Clark, Hamburg Team Leader, wrote these comments……
”I find my job as a “direct-care” worker to individuals with disabilities rewarding and fulfilling because I enjoy the excitement that arises when individuals attain the goals they have chosen.  Each day is a new challenge and brings new opportunities for myself and the individuals that I serve.   One of the highlights of my employment is to help individuals learn the skills necessary to move from a group home setting to their own apartments or homes.  Some of the positive results of my work include the following: I have assisted individuals with disabilities participate in activities they had not participated in the past;  I have helped individuals become more outgoing and interact in a positive manner with others; I have tried to help instill self-confidence and a positive attitude in those I work with. I work with a great staff and supportive administrators.”

Mary Wade, Red Oak Vocational Trainer, wrote these comments…
”When I started working at Nishna Productions, Inc. 23 years ago, I never thought I would make it my career.  The reasons I have stayed are simple:  I like working with people with disabilities.  It’s a good feeling at the end of the day if I have helped one person learn a new skill, help them with a problem or simply just be there to listen when they need to talk.  Over the years, we have shared many laughs.  The great thing is individuals with disabilities and staff are like extended family.   We share the good and the bad and always make sure we find something to laugh about each day!  That is what keeps us going!   Nishna Productions, Inc. is an agency that is growing every day and looking to provide new services to the individuals that they serve as well as take part in employment opportunities that help the community.  I have been able to work in five different job capacities over my 23 years because NPI encourages growth and change with their employees as well as the people that they serve.  They are flexible and are willing to work with staff who feel they are ready for a new challenge or just want to learn a different part of the agency.  Because the agency has grown over the years and opened the doors to many different paths for people with disabilities, we have seen tremendous growth and increased independence, which has made their lives more satisfying and our jobs as staff more rewarding.  If you are a business owner wondering what our agency can do for you, I encourage you to stop by for a tour of our Work Centers or call and see what services we can provide.  We work with a group of very dedicated individuals who enjoy helping others and take great pride in their work and accomplishments.”

Thank you Linda, JoAnn, and Mary for sharing your thoughts and being a valuable part of Nishna Productions, Inc. employment team!
