Work Services:

Work Centers in Red Oak and Shenandoah provide opportunities for people with disabilities to gain useful vocational training while earning a wage. NPI has been providing work services in Southwest Iowa for more than twenty-five years.

NPI completes contract work for various Southwest Iowa and Omaha-based manufacturers.  These contract jobs involve the following skills:

Janitorial                               Simple machine operation
Hand packaging                    Collating and inserting mailing
Small parts assembly            Labeling

NPI also operates a bottle and aluminum can redemption center.  The individuals that work in the redemption center sort, count, and bag cans and bottles.  A pick-up service is available to retail customers.

Work crews are available to work on-site in the community.  At community work sites, like NSK-AKS and Lloyd Labs, workers complete tasks ranging from packaging to janitorial work.  On-site work opportunities allow people to become integrated into the work environment and more familiar with their communities.

NPI maintains an on-site work crew at the Federal Building and Post Office in Council Bluffs.  NPI oversees and provides all janitorial and grounds keeping services to these government-owned facilities.

NPI provides transportation for individuals that need a ride to the Work Centers and community work sites (excluding the Council Bluffs work site).

These services are accredited by CARF - The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission.
